The last day of May was a day I had been looking forward to ever since I found out that Skillet would play at Gröna Lund in Stockholm on that day. I have been a fan of Skillet for a very long time and I have seen the band live a couple of times already. Once is just never enough when you're a fan!
I had a friend coming over that day, so we went to the concert together. He had never heard of Skillet before and he is not particularly into rock or metal, but he loved the concert. And so did I!
NEDERLANDS: I had been looking forward to the last day of May ever since I found out Skillet would play at Gröna Lund on that day. Er was een vriend hier om me te bezoeken en we zijn samen naar het concert gegaan.
Ik ben al superlang een fan van Skillet en heb de band al enkele keren live gezien. Eén keer is nooit genoeg!
Skillet played a nice mix of old and new songs. They also played three very new songs from their upcoming album. Except for one of those, I knew all of the songs. And if you know me, you'll know that I always know all the lyrics. Obviously I sang along to all of the songs. Loudly, of course.
I've been to a couple of concerts at Gröna Lund now, but this was the first time I went to a concert at the small stage. I didn't even know there was a small one, until I read online that Skillet would play there. At first I thought it was ridiculous to pout Skillet on the small stage, but it was cozy and I liked it.
And I'll see them again in only two weeks on the mainstage of Graspop anyway. Can't wait!
NEDERLANDS: Skillet speelde een leuke mix van oude en nieuwe nummers. Ook speelde de band drie hele nieuwe nummers van hun nieuw album, waarvan eentje zelfs nog niet officieel is uitgebracht. Ik kende alle nummer en alle teksten. Dus ik zong ze allemaal mee. Luid, natuurlijk!
Ik ben al een paar keer naar concerten geweest in Gröna Lund, maar dit was de eerste keer dat ik naar een concert op het kleine podium ging. Ik wist zelfs niet eens dat er een klein podium was! Eerst vond ik het belachelijk dat ze Skillet op een klein podium lieten spelen, maar eigenlijk was dat net gezellig!
En binnen twee weken zie ik de band op het grote podium van Graspop! Zin in!
